Basic Turkey Tacos

Normally I hate food that you have to build yourself.  Tacos are the exception.
They're simple, and you can load them up with anything really.

The Goods:

Flour Tortillas
1lb Ground Turkey
1 Pkg Taco Seasoning
Shredded lettuce
Chopped cilantro
Diced red pepper
Diced tomato
Chopped green onion
Avocado
Shredded Cheese
Salsa
Sour Cream (or Greek Yogurt for a healthier substitute)
Sometimes I throw some black beans in there too

Make It:
  1. Brown ground turkey in a large pan.
  2. Stir in Taco Seasoning and some water.
  3. Warm tortillas.
  4. Fill with yummy toppings, wrap, and enjoy!

C's Letter to Santa & Christmas Wish List

Dear Santa,

This December 25th will be my first Christmas ever.  I am very excited.  I have been such a good girl since I was born in May.  I eat all of my vegetables and I make my Mom and Dad smile and laugh.  For Christmas I would like a sled to play with in the snow and a Playskool Rocktivity Sit to Stand Music Skool.  Mommy and I will be baking you cookies for your visit.

From C.

Hi C!

My name is Bob and I'm one of Santa's postal elves! Thank you for sending your letter to Santa. He just loves to receive mail!

The North Pole is a very busy place right now! Everyone is working hard to make this the best Christmas ever. No matter how busy the North Pole gets, Santa takes the time to read every letter he receives. You can expect an answer from Santa very soon!

Happy Holiday!

Postal Elf Bob

Hello ChloeRepa,

I was so delighted to receive your lovely email. Computers are wonderful. I just love being able to read your emails and write back! It's a busy day here at the North Pole and I'm heading over to the workshop soon. I thought I'd take a minute to reply to your email first though.

It's been snowing a great deal the last few days. All the elves have been playing outside, making snowmen and snow forts. They're having such a good time! I keep hearing them laughing and it makes me shout a jolly HO HO HO!

Later today, we're going to make S'mores. Mrs. Claus has a big plate of marshmallows, chocolate and crackers all ready and waiting. The elves loveS'mores. We usually eat them with big cups of hot chocolate. It's a great way to finish a busy day.

We're all working around the clock getting everything ready for the big day. Everyone is busy, busy, busy, but we're also having so much fun. That really is the best thing about this time of year, it's all just so much fun!

Thanks for taking the time to email me. I really hope you'll write again next year. Everyone here at the North Pole wishes you a truly magical Christmas.

Your friend,
Santa

C is so, so excited for her first visit from Santa that she already has her Christmas wish list all planned out.  Okay, just me? She has no idea that anything is different aside from the awesome Christmas music on loop all day long.

It's a Mans World

While operation income suite crawls toward the halfway mark, I find myself doing everything in my power not to be the hugest bitch to ever exist. During the renovations, we've had my Dad sharing our main floor with us. Don't get me wrong, I love my dad to death and he's for sure the coolest dad around and always has been, but I've been living on my own since I was 17 and at times my patience is spread pretty thin.  Nothing tests your patience like living with your parents when you have your own family.

Laying in bed one night I decided that I would type up a little memo to help me better communicate the craziness I was feeling. I basically PMS vented the shit outta my iPhone notepad.

In the morning, I sent the memo to the men in my life and hoped that by dinner they'd still want to talk to me.

Turns out, communication is the key to happy relationships. Who knew?!

We've made a few small changes and I think everyone feels a little more normal around here. And by everyone, I mean me. The guys couldn't care less about the little changes, big difference thing. They probably think I'm happier because my "unfortunate" time of the month is over. Either way, no one died, so it's a good day.

I swear they think I'm insane...

I came home today to my favourite chocolate bar waiting for me on my kitchen table.  I think they got the memo.

Baby R is 5 Months Old

My sweet babe, you have grown into this warm, always smiling, full of personality, giggly, and slightly stubborn little girl in just five short months.

You can sit up on your own. You hold your own spoon. You gobble up sweet potato, bananas, peas, pears, squash, apples and carrots. You stick anything within arms reach into your mouth and you kick like a swimmer in the bathtub. You're a blast!
