Baby R is Two Months Old

Hi friends!!

It's been just over two months since I've posted anything.  When I started this blog, I thought I would just be keeping it as a way to vent my pregnancy frustrations.  Turns out, I have more to say :)

Baby R, we'll call her C, is two months and three days old now and I must say it's been quite the crazy, hectic, hilarious, stressful two months.

Since we brought baby girl home our lives have changed in so many ways...mostly for the best.  Aside from the lack of sleep.... and I really can't complain because we've been blessed with an angel baby.  Seriously, this kid sleeps like it's her job...plus she's freaking cute.

I'm not going to go on about how amazing this little girl is, or about how having a daughter that rocks has made me a complete emotional hot, smiley, mess most of time.  I just want to talk about some of the cool things that are involved with being a mom and the stressful things that I didn't think about before she arrived.

Month One:

I spent my days rushing to her side every single time she made even a peep.  I changed hundreds of diapers, laughed and cried equally as many times and spent every evening anxiously trying to figure out what C needed.  I watched my relationship with my other half grow stronger and fill our home with love as we both watched our daughter hit new milestones.  At first she slept a lot.  Constantly actually, and it scared me.  Then, I regretted taking the peace and quiet for granted when she was non stop fussy every evening.  Then, she smiled.  My heart melted and that's when we started having fun.  My goal all day long was to make this little babe smile.

Month Two:

We walked a lot.  And spent our days shopping and having visitors.  We learned how to have afternoon naps with each other and how to roll around and giggle.  We played dress up and went swimming.  At around 6 weeks, C developed a routine.  She was always a good baby but this is when she became THE BEST!.. she began to sleep for 10 hours at a time.   Waking only for 10 minutes to nurse.  We showed her how to eat rice cereal and bought her a swing.

So far motherhood has been a blast.  Don't get me wrong, it's been challenging.  Every day is a guessing game as we learn to understand each other a little better.  But she's super fun and every time I look at her I can't help but wish for a little boy version of her.  Shhh...don't tell Dad. ;)

Here are a few pictures of the fun times we've had.
